Pray for us: for we trust we have a good conscience, in all things willing to live honestly. But I beseech you the rather to do this, that I may be restored to you the sooner. (Hebrews 13:18-19)

This well known parable was told to illustrate the futility of trying to earn your way into heaven. It also shows us the wonder of Christ's sacrifice for us beaten and dying sinners

Christians have joy. We rejoice in the hope of God's glory in us. We rejoice even in our sufferings knowing they work a good work in us. Finally we are joyful because our hope does not leave us ashamed, it leaves us with the Holy Spirit!
