We all become lost at times - lost to ourselves and lost to the world. Sometimes we need to be reminded of who we are. In the Father's house we come to be reminded who we are.

We love to ask the question Why? Often times Jesus doesn't answer the questions about why - but answers questions that were not asked. Sometimes our questions are too small and not life-giving and he asks us to un-ask our question so that we can ask a better question.

Growing up I always heard one side of the Transfiguration story, the story on the mountain top. If I heard about the valley it was to ensure that I knew that life cannot be lived on the mountain.  So - why does every Gospel writer include the story of the boy suffering in the valley?

When we hear the words of Jesus from his Sermon on the Plain, we might get a little uncomfortable. The words are hard to hear, and Jesus even acknowledges his words might cause a bit of discomfort. Jesus doesn't just leave us in our discomfort though.

We all have been there - in that place where it seems like no one notices our presence. It can be an awkward place.  It can be a place that causes fear and anxiety.

Faith shows up in the most unexpected places at times. Sometimes we have enough faith to get through the day and then there are other times when life hits us hard, and we wonder if we have enough faith to get through the day.

Our world is full of signs. They tell us all sorts of different things. A lot of the time, they point us in some type of direction, they convey to us information. In John's Gospel, he calls the miracles signs. But what do these signs point to?
