Deconstructing religion, especially Fundamentalist Christianity can be hard.

The indoctrination runs deep, but when you start to understand that a lot of what Fundamentalist Christianity is, is simply teachings from ancient wisdom repurposed to put men at the centre, it becomes a lot easier.

From astrology, to tarot to meditation, everything that sits outside of the framework of religion could be considered 'occult' - which is why Fundamentalist Christianity demonizes it so heavily.

This episode explores how and why this happened.

I spoke to the amazing, and remarkably erudite Demi Laverty aka @Demima about Plain Politics: How deprivation leads to addiction, sectarianism and paramilitarism in the North.

Demi's work spans her professional, academic and lived experience and she currently works day to day with people in these communities tackling these complex issues head on.

We talked about what it's like to be at the front line of the problems facing out deprived communities and what's driving these young people out into the streets.

I spoke to Monya Ahmed MYP about how she became a Youth MP which took her from her family home on the North Coast in Northern Ireland to speaking in the House of Commons.

Monya is now studying for a degree in Ulster University and is a member of various youth led organisation and projects across N.I.

I spoke to Katrina McDonnell, founder of Menstruation Matters about everything from periods, to imposter syndrome, to what it's like to have changed the law for people with periods right across the North of Ireland.

Katrina is a force of nature, her unwavering commitment to making life better for women and girls in Northern Ireland has not only means that everyone now gets access to free period products in all public buildings in the North, but she's also working on a campaign to ensure kids can go to the toilet when they need during school hours, all the while she works in campaigns for The Good Law Project!
