By integrating the new Gemini Robotics-ER 1.6 AI model, the quadruped robot known as Spot can now interpret complex analog gauges and thermometers with near-perfect accuracy.

This advanced agentic vision allows the robot to perform high-level reasoning and visual inspections in unpredictable factory environments where older models previously struggled.

Beyond simple observation, the update enhances operational safety by helping the machine adhere to physical constraints and better recognize potential risks to humans. Ultimately, these improvements represent a significant shift toward creating autonomous robotic workers capable of navigating and understanding the intricate details of the physical world.
