Canada avoided an election when the Liberal government in Ottawa survived a confidence vote yesterday, with 146 MPs for and 180 against a motion to create an anti-corruption committee to look closely at the WE Charity scandal. The Trudeau government lived to fight another day largely thanks to the support from Jagmeet Singh and the federal NDP, who said he was denying Trudeau the election he wanted. Matt Gurney is a columnist and editor with the National Post, and he joins John to discuss the confidence vote.

An annoyed Saskatoon resident is circulating a petition calling on the city to take action against a neighbour he says has been annoying the entire block for the past 25 years. According to the petition, the resident blasts loud music right up until 11:00 p.m. and refuses to lower the volume, burns a smoky fire pit without consideration, and regularly uses vulgar language in places where young children can hear.
