Pense’s push to be the next Hockeyville has fallen short. The town just west of Regina lost the title of Kraft Hockeyville to the community of Twillingate, N.L., in online voting that was conducted Friday and Saturday. Pense will receive $25,000 from Kraft and Canadian businessman Brett Wilson announced on Twitter he will be matching the $25K.

Since Friday, the province has added 70 new COVID-19 cases and 65 of them are in communal living situations. Of the 193 active cases, 127 are in communal living situations. David Tschetter is the Chair of the Hutterian Safety Council. He joins Gormley to discuss the work being done to help all communities move past cultural divides.

Premier Scott Moe announced Saturday a delayed start to the school year and $40 million in funding for resources after hearing feedback on the Saskatchewan Party’s return-to-school guidelines. The update came in a video posted to the premier’s Facebook page. The Premier joins Gormley to discuss the recent announcement.

Pense is one of the four finalists for Kraft Hockeyville and they want to be the first community in Saskatchewan to ever win the contest. The winning community gets a $250,000 Hockeyville grand prize for arena renovations and the opportunity to host an NHL pre-season game. Voting opened this morning and ends tomorrow at 4 p.m. Graeme Crosbie, a member of the Pense Memorial Rink board joins Gormley to talk about their bid to become the first Saskatchewan town to win Kraft Hockeyville.
