One of the massive glacier sightseeing buses overturned on the approach to the Columbia Icefield Saturday. Three people were killed and 14 others suffered critical injuries when the off-road bus rolled and came to rest on a rocky slope, its six huge monster-truck tires pointed up to the sky. The cause of the accident hasn’t been determined. Bill Graveland with the Canadian Press has been following this story closely and joins Gormley with an update.

Rosetown Mayor Subhas Maharaj says members of town council have been making decisions and not involving him. The mayor has filed an application with Court of Queen's Bench to have a motion made in early June quashed. Mayor Maharaj joins Gormley to discuss what's happening on Rosetown town council.

Unity’s Chris Bunz and his daughter were travelling from Jasper to Banff Saturday when they thought about taking a Glacier bus tour. Bunz says they decided the line was too long and they didn't want to wait, so they walked up instead. Shortly after, one of the tour buses crashed and three people were killed and 14 others injured. The line, which seemed like an inconvenience at the time, turned out to be a possible life saver for Bunz and his daughter. Bunz joins Gormley now to talk about just missing the deadly bus crash.

ZYUS Life Sciences, a Saskatoon-based company, reached a positive milestone in the development of COVID-19 vaccine components last week by achieving plant-based expression, isolation, and purification of a potential antigen for a SARS-CoV-2 vaccine. According to ZYUS, this provides an important proof of concept for plant-based COVID-19 antigen production. Antigens are a key component of vaccines, and ZYUS CEO Brent Zettl joins Gormley to explain what the breakthrough means for COVID-19 vaccine research.

Since mid-June, there has been an increase in COVID-19 cases in the southwest and west-central parts of Saskatchewan, both on colonies and in the broader community. Public health investigation is ongoing to determine transmission chains and to identify contacts. Health officials are working closely with the Hutterian Safety Council, local Hutterian leaders, and local municipal leaders to increase testing and precautionary measures to protect these communities. Joe Kleinsasser, Chair of the Sask. Hutterian Safety Council, joins Gormley to discuss new guidelines in place to help prevent the spread of the virus and to talk about reports of discrimination towards some Saskatchewan residents.
