In Quebec, you could face a fine of $108 if you leave your vehicle unlocked in a public space or a publicly-accessible lot. In Saskatchewan, however, there are no such penalties and drivers are only required to pay their deductible even if their vehicle is stolen with the keys left sitting in the ignition. It's a big problem, with 238 vehicles stolen with the keys left inside in Saskatoon alone last year, but is it unfair to ask drivers to forgo warming up their cars in Saskatchewan's -40 temperatures? With the rules laid out, the race to become the next leader of the Conservative Party of Canada is officially on. Candidates will need to raise $300,000 and 3,000 signatures from party members in order to make their candidacy official. Conservative insider Alise Mills says she likes the strict entry requirements in order to keep the race limited to serious candidates only. She says the next leader will define the CPC's brand, and it's important for the party to be very careful about who they allow to enter the race. Mills says now is the time for fundamental change within the party, but none of the declared candidates seem to be offering that. She says it will be very interesting to see what Rona Ambrose does, because the former interim leader is unlikely to enter the race unless she believes the party needs to be saved. Mills joins Gormley to discuss the race and why the next leader has to be truly inspiring and not just an alternative to Trudeau.

Prince Harry and his wife Meghan Markle are planning to spend a lot more time in Canada after receiving permission from the Queen to step back as senior members of the Royal Family, but not all Canadians are happy with the move. According to new data from the Angus Reid Institute, half of Canadians simply don’t care if Harry and Meghan move here, and three quarters don’t want Canadian taxpayers to pay a dime for their security or other associated costs. Stewart has spent over 20 years in the health wellness sector, with experience in short and long term disability, bodily injury, insurance, finance, and mental health. She says the biggest thing she has learned over all these years in this industry is that all of the preceding list, always affects an individual's mental health to some degree. For the past four years her career has been focused on mental health in the workplace and our communities. We've heard a lot about the civilian applications of artificial intelligence, but the military applications are equally fascinating and frightening. Science fiction movies like "The Terminator" tell us of a bleak future where AI becomes "too smart" and turns on humans using our own weapons against us. Dr. Robert Marks, director of the Walter Bradley Center for Natural and Artificial Intelligence at Discovery Institute and Distinguished Professor of Electrical and Computer Engineering at Baylor University, takes a less fearful view of militarized AI, arguing that AI is neither good nor bad and those writing, coding, and using the AI systems are responsible for the morality and ethics of its use. In his new book "The Case for Killer Robots," Marks argues that lethal AI is necessary and should be developed by modern militaries, especially America. Marks joins Gormley now to discuss the benefits and potential risks of arming artificial intelligence.

If you’ve been on YouTube recently, chances are you’ve seen videos from Quick Dick McDick, a Saskatchewan farmer whose funny videos have been going viral across Canada. McDick, who doesn’t like revealing his real name, says he started the online persona to make his friends laugh through SnapChat, and his fame has grown ever since.
