It looks at governments from across Canada to see who has wasted tax payer’s money. Gage Haubrich is the Prairie Director for the Canadian Taxpayers Federation and joins Gormley to tell us which government won the awards this year.

How does a made-in-Saskatoon success story lose out on a contract to recycle Saskatchewan tires? The TSS chose to go with a U.S. based company over Shercom for processing tires. We go to Dana Skoropad, the Minister of Environment who joins Gormley to ask him how could this happen.

After contract talks fell through between of Tire Stewardship of Saskatchewan (TSS) and Shercom Industries, TSS signed a new contract with U.S. company Crumb Rubber Manufactures (CRM), which operates in Moose Jaw. This has the possibility to affect trading, production and even Canadians working and living in China. Charles Burton is the Senior Fellow at the Macdonald-Laurier Institute, and a former Canadian diplomat at Canada’s embassy in Beijing.
