Nationally-recognized Christian author and pastor Brian McLaren will also speak on Spiritual Formation in the Emerging Culture at 7:30 p.m. on Oct. 12 in the Church-Chapel. Both meetings are free and open to the public. Some of McLarens books will be available for sale and signing after the evening meeting. His recent books include A New Kind of Christian, A Generous Orthodoxy and The Secret Message of Jesus.

In this service, we will traverse the journey of lament and praise. At this point in the semester, you may need to cry out to God for a variety of reasons in the context of peer journeyers and worship. A variety of hymns and scripture will help us along the way.

Francisco Aragon is the author of Puerta del Sol (Bilingual Press, 2005) and many poems in anthologies. He is the Director of Letras Latinas, the literature unit at the Institute for Latino Studies at Notre Dame, where he serves as editor of Momotombo Press and coordinates the Andres Montoya Poetry Prize. He is currently editing an anthology of Latino Poetry for University of Arizona Press.
