Reverend Philip Opio, our pastor while at home due to the COVID - 19 restrictions not to go to worship places shared a message from the Word of God to his church, the message was a passionate call to the true worship of God, stressing the need for the saints to be able to regard the house of God, the work of God, to consider the men of God.

In reference to the daily work and job, those in responsibility - in supervisory positions are meant to ensure that no one runs down the policies of the company - in similar way the Man of God is charged by God to ensure that no one runs down God's company - the Church. And thus the saints are meant to ensure that the church becomes number 1 priority of all things in their lives.

Man is like an onion – layer after layer. And each a layer of self in some form. Strip off self and you will come to self-trust. Get beneath this and you will meet self-seeking; get beneath this and you will find self-pleasing; get beneath this and you will get self-exhortation. Even when you think these are abandoned – self-will betrays its presence, if this is stripped off, you will find self-defense and last of all self-glory.

How offensive is an assertive human onion? There must be a death and burial of self, before we can truthfully say – “for me to live is Christ” Philippians 1:21.”

Leviticus 6:11 shows us that after the priest changes his garments, he returns for the ashes beside the altar, and carries them into a clean place. Glory be to God . . . . . Jesus Christ has changed His garments and He is now in His glory. He is coming again out from the Holy of Holies, Third Heaven itself, through the holy place, back to the court for the ashes at the side of the altar, and He is going to take them back with Him — “unto a clean place!” Oh, hallelujah! Jesus is coming back for His overcoming saints! They have not died in vain! The priest returning in his change of garments for the ashes and taking them to a clean place is THE HOPE OF THE SAINTS! Jesus Himself said He would return for the ashes beside the altar! “And if I go and prepare a place for you, I WILL COME AGAIN, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also.” John 14:3. “…that where I am, there ye may be also.” Praise His dear name . . . . . away from sin and corruption and vileness — “unto a clean place.” Oh, hallelujah! Paul assures us this is so with his words also.

The “key” to the fact that this is a parable, and that the rich man was the bulk of the Jewish nation is found in Luke 16:29:  “They have Moses and the prophets….”  This was true only of the Jewish nation. But the parable does not teach that the Jewish nation was to suffer forever.

Rev. Philip Opio had heartfelt message for his saints while he was at home recovering from an injury. His heart went out for his flock and had a desire for them to continuously serve God irrespective of the conditions and the circumstances prevalent. 

There is a technicality in serving God. There are no ANYHOWS OR DISORDER. Uzzah died because it was not done after the due order. 1 Chron 15:13.

We have a time as gentiles to work for God to live for God to do something in the work of God. We shall not always have the time to preach; the time to witness; the time to reach out to the many places we love to. So, we as gentiles must understand and we must know that the time we have ahead of us is a limited time. It is not always going to be gentile time. A time will come when the Lord turns to his people the Jews.
