We urge Christians to share together in fellowship under the pure teaching of the Word of God. Titus 3:9 contains the same word translated “speculations” and says this, “But avoid foolish controversies and genealogies and strife and disputes about the Law, for they are unprofitable and worthless.” Rather than religious theories and controversies we urge the pure teaching the word of God and loving care for one another as we serve together in the body of Christ.

In this message taken from Proverbs 6:1-19 we examine four teachings that Solomon gave on wisdom for life in the world.

Paul is teaching Timothy what is necessary for being “prepared for every good work” in the context of elders in the church. Doctrines and practices which bring dishonor to God must be removed and replaced with godly teaching and virtues.

False teachers taught that the resurrection had already happened. Timothy was to correct these teachers and counteract the damage by teaching the truth. We emphasize the need to do careful study to make sure we “handle accurately the word of truth” (2Timothy 2:15) as Paul told Timothy.

In this second message in Proverbs 5 we continue to examine the wisdom of staying faithful to one’s spouse. We begin to look at the New Testament data concerning why sexual purity is an important component in living a godly life for the glory of Christ. We learn that our bodies belong to Christ every bit as much as our souls, and we also learn practical ways in which we can have a marriage that reflects the ultimate union of Christ and church

We also have a robust discussion on how post-modern epistemology has set our culture up to abandon rational thought and live as unreasoning beasts. Come and hear for yourself how important it is for men and women to remain faithful to their spouses all the days of their lives.

We continue to teach about the nature of the church and the need for elders who correct error. The authority of Scripture and priesthood of every believer are fundamental to the biblically defined church.

When heterodox teaching which is not in accord with the “sound words of our Lord Jesus Christ,” is taught in the church, the church becomes something other than the simple fellowship of those born of God into His family sharing their common life in Christ according to the means He ordained. Already during Paul’s lifetime this was happening in Ephesus where he had spent three years and given them the “whole counsel of God.” The true purpose of the gospel had been described in 1 Timothy 1:5 which is “love from a pure heart, and a good conscience, and a sincere faith.”

Christ’s ascension is always depicted as His victory and mastery over Satan and his minion, but the catching up of the child in Revelation 12:5 is about rescue. Come and learn for yourself why the evidence suggests John is teaching about the rapture of the church in Revelation 12:5.
