  • The New Birth
This sermon on John 3:1-16 expounds the necessity of sovereign regeneration. Nicodemus, a Pharisee and Sanhedrin member, approaches Jesus privately by night, acknowledging His divine signs yet treating Him as a mere teacher. Still spiritually blind, he cannot see the kingdom on his own terms. Jesus insists that unless one is born again of water and the Spirit (Ezekiel 36), he cannot enter God's kingdom. Flesh produces only flesh; the natural man is dead in sin, hostile to God, and unable to please Him (Romans 8). The new birth is monergistic—cleansing, transforming, and empowering—entirely the sovereign work of the Spirit, who blows where He wills. When Nicodemus remains confused, Jesus points to the bronze serpent in Numbers: as the Israelites looked to the lifted-up serpent for healing, so the Son of Man must be lifted up that whoever believes in Him may have eternal life. Salvation comes by looking in faith to the crucified Christ alone, by whom the poison of sin is removed. The gospel is all of grace; God alone raises the dead and draws sinners to Himself.

  • [10/25/2026 AM] - “Chronicles of Christ #30: Amos” - Amos 1:1 - 9:15
Sunday is a day of rest but also a day of Spiritual growth. Pray this Sunday will provide both. In the morning we take up Amos, chapter 30 of the Chronicles of Christ. If I said to you "social gospel" would that bring a negative reaction? That term causes us concern, and rightly so. There is a lot of history behind that with the liberal, mainline churches. So do we have any sense of "social concern"? Do we strive for justice? Are we caring for widows and orphans in their distress (James 1.27)? Amos will press us hard on these things. Please come asking the Lord to show us the truth and to help us live it out. --------- October 25, 2026 MORNING WORSHIP SERVICE Scripture Reading: Amos Text: Amos (various) Message: "Chronicles of Christ #30: Amos" Theme: The God of holiness calls a shepherd-farmer to prophecy that formality in religion will not do 1. • The rest of salvation.
As we reach the end of our series we come to a most exciting and profound portion of this subject of salvation. The rest of salvation. Because of Jesus we can have rest, rest in today, rest in tomorrow, and rest in eternity. This world is without hope, unrest is everywhere, there is an unstableness to society, but we have more than hope we have the promise. The promise that He will never leave us nor forsake us. As we examine this thought for those of us who are saved, it should excite us with a profound joy for what we have received, and for those who are not yet saved it should bring encouragement to trust in Jesus for salvation because of the rest we have in Him.

  • The Ten Words of Freedom: Avoiding the Two Ditches, Part 2: Being Against God’s Law
This sermon addresses the theological error of antinomianism, defined as the rejection of the Ten Commandments in Christian life, which serves as a dangerous counterpart to legalism. The speaker argues that dismissing God's law leads to a demotion of God's moral character, a depreciation of sin, and ultimately a disconnection from the gospel-centered life that drives believers to Christ. By examining the eternal and unchanging nature of God's law, the message emphasizes that the commandments are essential for defining sin, revealing the need for grace, and guiding sanctification. The sermon calls for a balanced approach that embraces the law not as a means of self-justification, but as a tool that continually points to the sufficiency of Christ. Believers are encouraged to meditate on Scripture, particularly the Psalms and the teachings of Jesus, to maintain a proper reverence for God's standards while relying entirely on His grace for salvation and daily obedience.
