GOSPEL POWER |MAY 30, 2021|SUNDAY |
Solemnity of the Most Holy Trinity| Gospel: Mt 28: 16 – 20
The eleven disciples went to Galilee, to the mountain to which Jesus had directed them. When they saw him, they worshiped him; but some doubted. And Jesus came and said to them, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything that I have commanded you. And remember, I am with you always, to the end of the age.”
REFLECTION
The deepest longing of the human heart for connectedness, communion, intimacy and wholeness speaks more eloquently about the mystery of God as Trinity than any theological discourse that engages only the intellect. Our Trinitarian God, who is our origin and goal, is encountered most profoundly in that existential drive that propels us out of our isolation and petty self-preoccupation and prods us to connect with others and to seek unity in diversity. That is the Trinitarian imprint in us, an innate impulse to participate in the divine life, which is pure relationality and self-giving in love. In relationship, when we open our life to others and accept to be part of their lives, too, we discover together the truth that we have been created in the image and likeness of God, who is a community of Three in One
PRAYER
Glory be to the Father and to the Son and to the Holy Spirit, as it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end. Amen
