Gospel Ramah Church Sermon of the Week

To be an agent of change you have to fight. The first level is fighting with God. The second level is fight with self. Wresting with self is number one priority for a real change. 1) Purification - absence of confusion. Development purifies as you shed off things that contradict with your real self. 2) Feed on the food your name feeds on - the right food for your name. You cannot feed on anything, you need to sieve through and choose what you listen to, and your company etc. 3) Good management of your calling. Be a faithful and good manager of what God has entrusted you with. Because God did not make a mistake about you but you have to commit to the construction site.

Jacob wrestled with God. The fight is to become your real true self. In the fight with God, Jacob connected with God, refused to let go. Because everything on earth is organized to stray you away from God. The real battle is when we are bound with God. The moment Jacob was intertwined with God he became Prince, Israel. 1) Dependence - submit to God so he can master you. 2) Attachment - intimacy, doing life deeper together. Being a friend and not a servant. 3) Resemblance - when Israel is with God he becomes God. Change only occurs when you have dependency; and have understood the priority of friendship and can sacrifice everything for intimacy with Jesus; and when you have understood that your change is in resemblance to Jesus.

Breaking the cycle of non-accomplishment because the devils plan is to sabotage your calling. 1) Refusal that your adversity have advantage over you. You must not allow your adversary to have an upper hand. 2) Passion for divine justice. You need to hunger for justice to succeed and prosper. Justice is God's character or personality. The calling is more important than everything else in you life, the life is just an instrument. When you are more interested in saving your own life rather than the will of God this leads to non-accomplishment. Accomplishment requires patience, perseverance and resistance. The calling is your radiance and glory. 3) Refuse to be comfortable in contradiction. Humans adapt easily and get comfortable living a mediocre life than being uncomfortable in glory. 4) Zeal - you need to be determined to break the cycle of non-accomplishment. 5). Prayer - pray without season, never giving up. Prayer is key to accomplishing your calling.

God changes names when you wrestle with him. The name signifies victory, crown, dimension - you win it. Jacob was nothing without God but became a prince with God (Israel). The biggest life to set your life free is with God. The first level is fighting with God. When you fight with God he requires 1) Dependence, it is unnatural because of our flesh. You need violence to overcome the spirit of independence for the holy spirit to govern us. Because our real self is intertwined with God, that is why we become our real self when we draw near to him. Dependence goes hand in hand with trust. Obedience does not go further than where your trust is (Hebrews 11: 17). God weakens us so we can fully depend on him. 2) Dominion, for God does not walk with someone unless he is Lord. Submission to God is a result of trust in him.

The name is the real you. We all have 3 potential names - personality or character, journey or story and the Word of God or inheritance. The first two names are given automatically while the third one you have to fight for. The Word of God is your real name, it is the name that God gives you. Your real name comes through battles. When you want a real change, there are different levels to fight; 1) Fight with God, 2) Fight with self, 3) Fight with man and 4) Fight with the demons or spirit of sabotage. In the fight with God, prayer is the principle matter. The only way to be the Word of God, is to pray and deny self (1 Peter 4: 7). You need to fight for dependence (submission) and let God master you.

For change to occur you have to be an agent of change. An agent of change does not look at how things are in the natural or how they have started. You need to become the person, for the promise for the promise to come to pass. You cannot wait for others to change, for the events of your life to change, you need to deal with your internal self. You need to be intimate with God for his promises to manifest. For the problem is not the fight but the pressures of life. We need to fight for our fortune and inheritance. Fighting is a blessing not a curse or burden. Or are at risk to end up being someone else than what God has intended for you to be.

If God did the unthinkable for us when we were undeserving, try to imagine what He can do for us now that we’re citizens with His people and members of His household. 1) Alienated from God - Worldliness (concerned with material values or ordinary life rather than a spiritual existence). 2) Made alive by God’s grace. Five gracious acts of God; Blessed (with all the benefits of knowing Him) John 8:31-32; 17:3, Chosen (for greatness) (1 Peter 2:9-10); Predestined for adoption (Hebrews 2:5-11), Redeemed (from the empty way of life handed down to us by the culture we’ve been brought up in). 1 Peter 1:17-19, Enlightened, John 9:25 .3. 3) Empowered by Grace. Three forces to live by; Faith, Hope and Love. 4) Given full access to the mystery of Christ. Through (because of) Christ, the Captain of our Salvation, we have access to God’s best. Because God can do far more than you think; venture more on his power and love, less on your plans and strategies. In order to flow in the supernatural we need to adjust: our picture of God, our understanding of the power of God over the church, and our appreciation of the love of God, in Christ, for the church

God has called us from where we are and has given us the promise of greatness. But en route to greatness, there are three things that he expects from us: 1) Sacrificial Living 2) To Get Out of Potiphar’s House 3) To Pursue His Knowledge

Its is not your project that will stop the project of God. Your walk is the fulfillment of the word. When you have a great destiny with God: 1) People will desert you. When you are alone the ground is free for the Lord to come land. This is because Jesus is for those that have no one. 2) God will look at your reaction towards those who have deserted you. You need to learn to forgive and forget people who have forsaken you. Just as Joseph forgave his brothers. 3) Guarantee of the presence of God (John 21:6). The greatest gift is the presence of God. 4) God will rescue you - he will make you escape. On the way to your destiny you will experience disappointment, betrayal and attracts. However, with God you will come out victorious.

Our Christian Humanity is: anchored to Jesus Christ the

ultimate reality. Which gives

us markers that help locate our salvation. It is located in our shared salvation as well as our common humanity. Expressed by being God’s instrument

supernaturally capacitated to

reach our generation with His

love. Christianity as a way of life is counter-cultural in at least four

major areas: attitude, motives, priorities and values. Yet, our Sovereign Lord has entrusted us with the noblest mission to reach and win the world with His love. We have been made victorious: when we got born-again. When we decided to take the word seriously. The best and most fulfilling life is that of love and obedience. "When the cause is big enough the cost is irrelevant” - Dr. Ramesh Richard. And lastly when we chose to walk by faith rather than by sight. Faith in God gives us capacity to overcome the world.
