Episode 2 in our Bible Study Series 'Developing a heart for God.'   In this episode we look at the Psalms, songs and prayers of worship, joy and celebration to God, as well as laments, the outpouring of our hearts to God in times of sorrow and despair. We are encouraged to develop both these types of prayer, toe press our feelings to our God, in the good and the tough times. And in both, we see our hearts grow and be renewed in faith and assurance, which iTunes leads to more praise. 

We look at the following Scripture, Psalm 136, 137 and then in a bit more depth Psalm 103 and 42. We reflect on Psalm 136 sung by Greg LaFollette and Leslie Jordan, and then Psalm 103 sung by SovereignGrace.

First of the 2026 season. This is the beginning of a series of episodes based on our Bible Studies where we are thinking about developing a heart for God. In this episode we see David's great desire to worship God with all his heart, he doesn't hold back and he doesn't let anyone else put him off from worshipping God, for the Lord is on the throne of his heart. However, like all us, we are tempted. and other things can so easily push God off that throne place in our hearts. We explore how David allowed that to happen, how he could have resisted, and how the Lord brought him back to a place of repentance and restoration, where he once more has God's praise on his lips.

We look at the following Scripture, 2 Samuel 6:1-22; 11:1-17; 12:1-9 as well as reflecting on David's response penned in Psalm 51. We have music by Chris Tomlin, 'God's Great Dance Floor' and Kieth Green 'Create in me a Clean Heart.'

Today I'm joined by my daughter, Leah, who is home with us for Christmas. We. are thinking about Christmas journeys, as well as the journeys of change, and the journeys of faith. Leah shares about her journey as a student in Cardiff to a Relay Worker with the Christian Union in Cardiff, and how her journey of faith and ministry has been shaped. I reflect on the journeys of Mary, Joseph, the Shepherds and the Wise men as they encountered Jesus who journeyed from heaven to earth 'to save his people from their sins.'

In this episode Rev Wallace chats to George Hunter about harvest and God's provision and blessings. George has farmed, worked in hospitals and factories, ran businesses and ministered and served in the church over many years. As we reflect on 2 Corinthians 9:10 'He who supplies seed to the sower and bread for food will supply and multiply your seed for sowing and increase the harvest of your righteousness,' George and I chat (well George talks and I listen) about how we have seen God fulfil this promise both in a material manner but also spiritually, as God has provided and multiplied.

Rev Wallace Moore shares some thoughts from Philippians 1:12-18 about what is the most important thing as we Live for Christ, even when our situations might not be what we expected. As Christians today, many want us to be quiet about the gospel of Jesus, yet Paul says 'The important this is ... Christ is preached.'

Our first ever podcast, where Rev Wallace speaks with Juliet Hunter about what the Bible means to her as a young student in Dublin.  Juliet shares her 'go to' verse and encourages us to memorise Isaiah 60:22 'At the right time, I, the LORD, will make it happen.'
