Hi Gospel Unscripted family!   Amy and I have been slammed this week and don't have a video ready today, so be blessed with a nugget from John 6:27-29.  As we go to work this week, let's keep our eyes fixed on Jesus and work for the food that endures to eternal life.  And how do we do that?  Jesus tells his disciples to simply believe in Him!  Lord increase our faith that we may believe in You this week, not just for eternal salvation, but that our work may not be in vain, but filled with Your power.   Amen. --Jenni & Amy

We want to welcome our first guest, Amanda Dablemont!  Thanks Amanda for joining us for our conversation in John 5 where Jesus heals a man at the pool of Bethesda.

Jesus heals an official's son: After Jesus spends two days in Samaria telling those about the Kingdom, he travels back to Galilee.  A royal official, who had heard of his miracles, traveled nearly 17 miles to Cana where Jesus was to seek healing for his dying son.  Jesus surprises this man in an awesome way, giving us hope for today.  Next week, Amy and I will have a guest with us as we talk through John 5, so stay tuned!

Amy and I dove into the history and Old Testament references for the town of Samaria where Jesus confronts the woman at Jacob's Well.  We hope you enjoy watching and we pray that God reveals himself to you as you read and study the scriptures in John 4!

Many scholars identify Sychar, the town named in John 4, with Shechem, an ancient fortified city in central Israel, and the capital of the Northern Kingdom of Israel.

Archaeological evidence shows that a temple was built on Mount Gerizim around 450 B.C. and then destroyed (110 B.C by order of the king of Judah and executed by the Maccabees, or those of Judah; the Jews at that time).
