As our series on worship continues, we consider the rule for worship - what is called the Regulative Principle. A principle that comes from the Bible - which teaches that whatever is not commanded is forbidden in worship. As our series on worship continues, we consider the public worship of God. We hear what distinguishes it from secret and family worship. The great glory it brings to God. The great glory that the worship enters into - "the holiest" through the blood of Jesus. Public Worship is most necessary - as its neglect leads to apostasy. As well, we see that Christ gives leadership of Public Worship to church officers and not civil magistrates or the unordained. Public worship: I. Is most glorifying and most glorious. II. Has certain requirements. III. Is not to be neglected.

In the first sermon in our series on worship, we are exhorted to understand the gravity of worship. That through the charred bodies of Nadab and Abihu - we recognize that we are to draw near to a holy God by hallowing Him.
