Over the years, many have misunderstood my stick and move online strategy. It can all be summed up in one word: unspotted. Part of it is fueled by an introverted personality, and the rest is inspired by the truth and reward of pure religion.

We live in a culture obsessed with self promotion while ignoring thankless work like serving the fatherless and the widows. Yet that work is the very heart of pure religion, pointing all glory to God rather than self. It is quiet and peaceful, void of the world's spotlight and often done in the shadows. It gathers few likes, views, or shares, and it is a calling few subscribe to. David’s story warns us against boasting in numbers that feed our pride and ego, while Gideon proves that little is much when God is glorified. Still, the masses chase the fleeting vanity of fame for a quick dopamine high, only to harvest the world's envy and hostility while building a name and legacy destined to burn like stubble.

Online clout is an empty facade. The true, lasting reward of pure religion is yet to come. As for my online work and ministry that journeys through the Bible each year, it is right there, just a click away from the ‘For You’ feed, a feed that is never truly for you, but for those using you to build their own wealth and self glory.

And this, my friend, is why I have said for a long time that I am not looking for followers, I am looking for others to follow Jesus with me.

James 1:27 KJV Pure religion and undefiled before God and the Father is this, To visit the fatherless and widows in their affliction, and to keep himself unspotted from the world.
