Darren's advice:

* Keep the plants well fed and watered so they can fight back against the pests.

* Prune off infected foliage and bag it.

* Clean up any foliage that drops on the ground bag up.

* Pyrethrum & Neem Oil sprays can help control thrip numbers.

* Systemic insecticides such as Baythroid can also be used but must be mixed and applied with great care.
