Q: Why did Sabina Invent Foil Decor?
Sabina: "I came up with the idea and concept of Foil Decor while planning my wedding. I wanted something more Decorative than plain foil pans and more convenient than glass casserole dishes. I couldn’t find it, SO I INVENTED IT. I realized that this was a special time for both of us. So I wanted something elegant. Plain dishes and cold looking metal warmers did not fit the mood and experience I wanted.

As time went by I believed that others also needed something for their special occasions. I had the vision of what I wanted. With the assistance of a patent attorney, I established multiple utility patents for the idea. The name Foil Decor fit the function I wanted it to be but also the elegance it needed to represent. A trademark registration has been filed for Foil Decor.

While designing Foil Decor, I did not want a plain looking serving system. I want people to look at the system and think this has the look of an elegant table setting, but not expensive to purchase. More importantly I want the users and their guests to believe this is an elegant presentation of delicious food. Smooth surfaces with a flat top would not be an elegant looking dish. Part of the inspiration was to have a domed lid and scalloped edges. Foil Decor is today what I envisioned".

The problem with foil pans is they are flimsy, not attractive and hard to transport. Foil Decor is a elegant serving system that eliminates the use of glass casserole dishes at an affordable price.

Foil Decor has three components that work as a system. Foil Decor eliminates the need for support alternatives such as cookie sheets or trays and the use of glass casserole dishes. It’s a tasteful and more convenient way to utilize disposable foil pans. It is economical because it is reusable.

Joe Weston has been cleaning windows for 25 years (www.windowcleaningbyjoe.com) and now has over 500 customers even though his didn’t really begin full time until 2010. His career background is actually hotel management, but he decided back in 2009 to ditch that annoying occupation and go into business for himself. He is happier now for sure. A parent’s primary responsibility is to ensure the health, safety and welfare of their children. This in itself is a full-time responsibility with never enough eyes or ears available to catch all the little things that go on everyday. As parents of twins, we immediately experienced double of all the new parent challenges.

Shortly after the birth of our twins, we began to baby proof our home. No matter what products we purchased or fixtures we applied, nothing seemed to curb our twins’ curiosity with electrical outlets and light switches. It was the one thing that truly scared us in our home and we had little control over it.

As a Child and Adolescent Psychologist (Kelly) and Civil Engineer (George), helping people and solving problems has always been in our DNA. We knew that we weren’t the only parents experiencing this issue and that a solution had to be out there. We went right to work on ideating what can be done to solve our problem.

After working with local, Michigan-based suppliers and gaining two United States patents, Child Be Safe Outlet and Switch Covers were born! We want parents to have peace of mind that their children are protected when their eyes aren’t always on them.

As a son of immigrant business owners, George is a passionate supporter of local and small businesses, knowing first-hand the importance of community.

Karen is the co-founder and served as Chairman of the Board of Directors for Commerce Plaza, Inc., a non-profit company promoting financial literacy, that is now part of the YES Community Counseling Center. Commerce Plaza introduces children to the business community in order to prepare students for employment and a successful future. “The Children’s Business Center” teaches elementary students about the free enterprise system, careers, economics, citizenship, and the general skills needed in the world of work. Through a hands-on and simulated work environment, students receive paychecks, make bank deposits, write checks, operate businesses, prepare cost sheets, think critically and work as a team.
Karen regularly presents to multiple professional groups on both IRS and NYS tax issues, as well as on issues relating to financial literacy. Karen spoke on the Passage to Profit Show on iHeartRadio discussing how she teaches kids about financial literacy. She has been interviewed by Joe Connolly, WCBS 880 Radio, for their Small Business Spotlight, as well by Fox5 on “Speaking to Children About Money” that aired during Financial Literacy Month. Karen served as the inaugural Chair of the Financial Literacy Committee of the NYS Society of CPAs, Nassau Chapter. Karen has done multiple presentations and created a Family Financial Literacy Fair for the NYS Society of CPAs, Nassau Chapter, the Girl Scouts and the Boy Scouts. Walter the Vault has been showcased at the Long Island Children’s Museum Kidz Expo. Karen has been in news articles, on local cable television shows and radio programs, including Money Magazine, Long Island Business News, The New York Times, Newsday, The Trusted Professional, News12, Channel 12 Job Line, Bloomberg Radio, Telecare "Family Comes First", Bonnie D. Graham's "Something to Talk About,” and Govs Radio.
An attorney for over 35 years, Karen and her team represent taxpayers in IRS and NYS tax matters. Karen is a frequent speaker on IRS and NYS tax issues for numerous professional groups on topics such as New York State residency, IRS and NYS collections, and more. Her knowledge and leadership have established her as a leading tax attorney in the NY area.
She developed an interest in promoting financial literacy from her first-hand experience helping others with tax problems.

Inventor Guest Ginger Thompson:
Ginger's life has taken some interesting twists and turns, from being chosen Miss South Dakota USA in 1977 to winning the title of Brookings City Councilwoman in 2005.
She holds a Master of Science degree in Journalism from South Dakota State University and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Mass Communication from the University of South Dakota. She was a television news anchor and reporter at KELO-TV and a producer for South Dakota Public Television before co-founding a marketing and media production company, TV Productions Media. Ginger is the co-producer of the award-winning television program “On Call with the Prairie Doc,” a live medical call-in show on SDPB and Prairie Doc Media. She is the owner of Website Spice by Ginger, a web design company, and is an adjunct professor of journalism for SDSU, teaching Intro to Mass Communication to hundreds of students each year.
She recorded her first voice-over at the age of three for her family’s radio station, KISD. She also has decades of presentation experience, appearing in front of audiences of up to 1,300 people. She is an engaging presenter, both as a seminar speaker and professional emcee. As emcee, she has shared the stage with celebrities such as Jane Seymour, Erin Brockovich, Lisa Ling and Mary Lou Retton.

Is working in the Engineering Department.
I work with different trades involving maintenance projects. The hands on experience gave me the opportunity to learn different things within facilities operations, and safety procedures. Taking a step back I slipped and fell on a wet floor in 2002. In 2015 the hospital acquired a building with major flooding problems. That’s when my experience working in facilities and engineering ignited my entrepreneurial mindset to invent.
I saw a need for a safety product that is multipurpose, a floor dryer/air circulation
system.
That’s when THE TIME SAVER®️ was born.
The journey of becoming a inventor, is a whole different world. A world that led me to different places and meet other Entrepreneurs. The
Nassau / Suffolk Inventors and Entrepreneurs Club, is where I learned about the patent process from my mentor, Brian Fried. Since then, I have trademarked The Time Saver®️ and been granted two patents , one utility and one design patent. I have attended three Shark Tank casting calls.
