FBI’s Serial Murder Symposium, a multi-disciplinary gathering of law enforcement officials, mental health professionals, academics, and members of the media. The purpose of the symposium was to discuss various facets of serial murder, including its definition, the motivations of serial killers, the psychology of psychopaths, investigative techniques, and the role of the media in covering serial murder cases. The symposium concluded with the publication of this monograph, which offers a comprehensive guide for law enforcement professionals and other professionals working in the criminal justice system on how to investigate, prosecute, and prevent serial murder.
