Directed by: Scott White
Written by: Megan Mostyn-Brown
Valerie Vale (Jamie Chung) recovers from her gunshot wound, but ends her relationship with Jim Gordon (Ben McKenzie), knowing he manipulated Jervis Tetch (Benedict Samuel) into shooting her instead of Leslie Tompkins (Morena Baccarin). Meanwhile Tetch’s plan for revenge is not over, he breaks into the morgue and drains the blood from his sister Alice's corpse for use on the elite of Gotham . However, as Jim tries to catch Tetch he is exposed to the powerful "Red Queen" hallucinogen, that shows Jim three parts to his life as they might become or might have been - a war-torn GCPD, a life married to Lee with two children, and an encounter with his deceased father. Jim is rescued from the Red Queen’s effects by Mario Falcone (James Carpinello) who bring him back to consciousness. Elsewhere, before his attendance of the “Founder’s Dinner” Oswald Cobblepot (Robin Lord Taylor) attempts to manipulate Isabella (Chelsea Spack) encouraging her to break off her blossoming romance with Ed Nygma (Cory Michael Smith), but to no avail. As Captain Barnes (Michael Chiklis) questions a suspect over the break-in at the morgue he again loses control; but he and Harvey Bullock (Donal Logue) deduce Tetch’s plan to spread the virus at the city Founders' Party, and arrest him in time. Gordon decides to honor his father’s wish, who had encouraged him to better protect Gotham, by re-joining the GCPD.
