It took some time to make a bipartisan deal, but Gov. Gretchen Whitmer on Tuesday signed Michigan's fiscal year 2026 budget into law. The budget totals $81 billion, delivering on what Whitmer calls "kitchen table issues" — including long-term funding for roads and essential money for schools.
