So what if we encounter other beings that are, let's say 200 years ahead of us in technology. What if they were 2,000 years ahead of us? Maybe these beans already solved the problem of space, distance, and time. It's the main issue that seems to be the only unbreakable bond that keeps us from exploring other solar systems.
