One year after its launch on November 29, 2023, Saint Lucia's Collateral Registry is being reviewed for its impact on improving access to credit. With over 4,500 registrants, the registry allows movable assets like vehicles and equipment to be used as collateral, promoting financial inclusion, transparency, and efficiency while reducing lending risks.

Following months of extensive refurbishment, the Vieux Fort Wellness Centre has reopened, offering residents of Vieux Fort and surrounding communities access to upgraded healthcare services in a safer and improved facility.
The Centre resumed operations on January 20, 2025, after its closure in October 2024 due to air quality concerns caused by mold infestation and underlying maintenance issues. Jenny Daniel, Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Health, Wellness, and Elderly Affairs, highlighted the necessity of these interventions.
The Men’s Health Clinic focuses on preventive care and chronic disease management, particularly prostate health and overall wellness. Meanwhile, the Colposcopy Clinic provides specialized evaluation and management of cervical health concerns for women. Residents are encouraged to utilize the expanded services available at the Vieux Fort Wellness Centre. Operating hours are Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, and Saturdays, 8:00 AM to 12:30PM.

Saint Lucian residents are set to receive essential medical and surgical care as the Ministry of Health, Wellness, and Elderly Affairs, in collaboration with the Ministry of External Affairs, coordinates a Medical/Surgical Mission led by the United States Air Forces Southern medical mission, Lesser Antilles Medical Assistance Team 2025 (LAMAT 25) Scheduled from Monday, February 24 to Friday, March 7, 2025, this mission will deliver advanced healthcare services, enhance local medical expertise, and promote collaboration between visiting and local healthcare professionals
This mission will see a multidisciplinary team of vascular surgeons, general surgeons, cardiologists, dental specialists, anesthesiologists, respiratory therapists, and other healthcare professionals delivering critical services. The team will provide medical equipment, medication, and supplies to support this effort. Surgical procedures will be conducted at the Owen King European Union (OKEU) Hospital and Saint Jude Hospital, with specialized dental and cardiology services at OKEU and dental clinics at wellness centres in Anse La Raye and La Clery.
Export Saint Lucia, in partnership with the Ministry of Commerce, Manufacturing, Business Development, Cooperatives, and Consumer Affairs, is proud to announce the return of the Saint Lucia Business Expo. Held under the auspices of the Government of Saint Lucia and the National Independence Committee, this highly anticipated event will celebrate its third installment with a historic move to the south of the island.
For the first time, the Saint Lucia Business Expo will be hosted in Vieux Fort, at the Vieux Fort Independence Square, on February 14 and 15, 2025, beginning at 9:00 a.m. each day. This venue change reflects the organizers’ commitment to making the Independence celebrations more inclusive, bringing the vibrancy and innovation of the business expo to communities in the southern region.
This year’s event is set to showcase approximately one hundred businesses from diverse industries, highlighting the remarkable creativity, innovation, and entrepreneurial spirit of Saint Lucians. Exhibitors will include businesses specializing in manufacturing, technology, wellness, creative arts, and professional services. The expo has attracted significant interest from businesses across the island, underscoring the widespread enthusiasm and value placed on this annual showcase.
Building on the success of previous editions, the 2025 expo promises to be a dynamic platform for businesses to present their products and services to a wide audience, while fostering meaningful connections with potential customers, investors, and partners. The lively atmosphere will also include entertainment by talented local artists, enhancing the celebration of Saint Lucia’s Independence 46 through a blend of commerce, culture, and community.
According to Sunita Daniel, Chief Executive Officer of Export Saint Lucia, “The Business Expo has become an integral part of our Independence celebrations, providing a unique opportunity for businesses to expand their reach and demonstrate the incredible range of talent and ingenuity Saint Lucians have to offer. It is a testament to our commitment to fostering unity and ensuring equal opportunities for all regions to participate in these national festivities.”
