Grab Some People - BBL Cricket Podcast

With not a whole heap to write home about in terms of actual cricket this week, we're joined by The Grade Cricketer's Sam Perry off the top to get into some relevant weird areas.

Then, we touch on some international players being poached, Morne Morkel finding a BBL spot after having the feelers out there, and the past week's scheduling which has been a drag.

Finally, we call a GSP referendum to decide the future of the Magic Fountain (vote from Monday night on Twitter or the Instagram - @gsppodcast) and Media Watch shines a light on some censorship at the Stars that sets a dangerous precedent.

With absolutely no shortage of headlines to punch through, we're joined by the Herald Sun's BBL Supercoach expert, Tim Michell, to discuss Marcus Stoinis's record-breaking 147*, two hat-tricks taking place on the same day, Chris Green being ruled out for a ball that doesn't turn and whether the top five sides are already set in stone.

Plus, there's more lid-less Glenn Maxwell runs to get stuck into, a Renshaw catch to make a ruling on and a surprise call in from a critic of the Magic Fountain.

Keep up with Tim's coverage of the BBL @tim_michell on Twitter, and the podcast @gsppodcast on both Twitter and the 'gram.

Jake's back from his retreat and we're back to work through all the BBL headlines, as well as the two Melbourne sides, the Heat, our top 3 and bottom 3 BBL commentators, the Magic Fountain and more.

Jake and Denam have resurfaced to recap the beginning of the BBL09 season with plenty of freezing cold takes that had to be retracted by the end of the show.

There's no one more qualified to talk about the Hobart Hurricanes' hopes for BBL09 than internet sensation Jacob Bevis , aka 'Bev' from The Bev Show.

But before we get stuck into The Canes: Players are still being signed up left and right, Moises Henriques is the BBL's best bloke, cult figure Clive Rose isn't shy of a cliche and we've got good and bad times on the cricket field to reminisce about.

Bev joins us from 27:20 to explain how his self-made broadcasting career came about, as well as how the Hurricanes franchise has (not) repaid him for his many years of promoting them, who's going to open with D'Arcy Short this season and more.

Denam Moore is joined by prolific tipster Jake Groothedde to preview all the teams, players and predicted finishes for the upcoming BBL season.

Find both Denam (@DenamMoore) and Jake (@TrebsNBA) on Twitter, or @gsppodcast on Insta to stay up-to-date with future incoherent ramblings.

It's only up from here. Oh, and gamble responsibly.
