This summer we're preaching Proverbs that people reference often. This week we look at Proverbs 3:11-12 which gets us into the theme of discipline in the book of Proverbs. It can be unsettling to read about the rod of discipline in Proverbs so how can we deal with it? How can we approach the rod of discipline in our own lives? Proverbs 3:11-12 gives us a two word answer: 1.  We can be "receptive" and 2. We can be "confident."

The Apostles' Creed ends with, "I believe in the resurrection of the body and the life everlasting." 1 Corinthians 15 gives us a future hope and a present encouragement. Future hope: Jesus rose to a resurrected body so we will rise to a resurrected body. 
Present encouragement: Jesus crucified our sin in his mortal body on the cross. 

The Apostles' Creed says, "I believe in the holy catholic church." Why do we say this when we aren't Catholic?

The Apostles' Creed reads, "He ascended into heaven." With all the focus on Jesus' incarnation, crucifixion, and resurrection, His ascension is often an afterthought. Why do we need an ascended Jesus?
