  • God Calls the Small (parable series)

With fresh ears we are listening to some of Jesus' parables about the kingdom of heaven: it is like a grain of mustard someone plants in their field or a bit of sourdough starter a woman folds into flour. Yet the kingdom isn't just like a seed or a bit of yeast; it's also unfolds when God calls small people to pursue small, faithful actions.

  • You Are Christ's Letter (Acclimating to Exile series)

God's promise to write the Torah on our hearts throws our current lives into stark contrast. Since Paul calls us "letters of Christ," how can we show Christ's love? First, we need to accept the love letter God has already sent us.

  • Children of God, Partners of Hope (Acclimating to Exile series)

  • Choose Living Water (Acclimating to Exile series)

Children know that, given the choice, drinking muddy water is dumb. But adults sometimes try to convince each other that water is suppose to be brown. The prophet Jeremiah, however, won't let us accept anything less than the pure, running water of God's compassion, peace, and truth.

Pastor Ben Masters preached "Choose Living Water" on August 2, 2020, at Hector Presbyterian Church.

    Scripture readings: John 7:37-44 & Jeremiah 2:1-13
