It is interesting that the first account that we get after Jesus' sermon on authentic followers is about a Roman Centurion. If you know anything about the relationship between the Jews and Roman empire you would know what makes this account interesting is that the Romans and Jews were not friendly to one another, and yet Jesus marks this Roman Centurion as an authentic follower because of his faith - compassion.
