God established and continues to establish nations for a purpose, and that purpose is “that they should seek the Lord.” That’s why God has providentially established nations, and in our text in Genesis 10 we see the beginning of the nations of the world.

“The best of men are men at best.” The Bible doesn't try to hide the flaws of any great men within its pages, and the record of Noah in this passage is no exception.

The world-wide flood was a massive event in human history, wiping out probably billions of people and destroying virtually everything on planet earth. It's hard to imagine what the planet was like when Noah and his family stepped off the ark, but we are given some clues in the passage we consider today.

God doesn’t forget our work and the love we have shown toward the glory of His name. God remembers our work, which flows out of our love for Him and our love for His glory. God remembers His people, and that’s what we are told God did in relation to Noah and his family in the ark.

One of the most well-known stories in the Bible is the story of Noah and the ark.

However, even though many people know about the story, that doesn’t mean that most people really know the details of the story with accuracy.

The violence in our world today can be unspeakable at times. But it may have been even worse on the earth in the years leading up to the worldwide flood in Noah's day. God's judgement on mankind was fully deserved, yet we see His mercy in His sparing of Noah and his family.

As a parent, it is exceedingly painful to have to administer any kind of discipline to your kids or impose any kind of negative consequences for their actions.

With that in mind, try to think about the heart of God when He looked out over mankind and saw that “every intent of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually.”
