God intended sex to be a wholistic exchange of all of life between two intimately known and deeply committed people within marriage. God intended sex to provide a picture of Him, procreation, and pleasure and yet it was to require great self-sacrifice and self-control. In a culture that has become obsessed with the pleasure that sex provides they have pursued an experience of sex that is so far different than what God intended and it has left us more hurting, used, and lonely than ever before.

This difficult question arises not in classrooms and textbooks but bedside in hospitals, graveside at funerals, and in the arms of those hurting. In those places, one grasps that suffering is predictable (inevitable and even a privilege) and purposeful (not pointless and random) to highlight our hope, change our character, intensify our intimacy with the Lord, and extend our empathy.

Objections regarding whether the Bible was preserved accurately over time, originally recorded with historical accuracy, and scientifically plausible necessitate that we have an explanation that maintains our assurance in the inerrant and inspired Word of God. For the Bible lands us at the feet of Jesus for salvation, conviction, and preparation for every good deed.
