John describes not the throne itself but the one on the throne. and unlike how he describes the Son of man in Chapter 1 with bodily characteristics he describes to costly stones of rarity and beauty, more so of the effect of a glorious appearance.

John is crediable witness to what heaven looks like and the things which was revealed to him.

God affectionally loves those who are of His. He does not want none to fail to obtain the objective. it is the Lord who will discipline those whom he loves not because of anger but because he does love them.

Anyone who has yet an unreached goal but unable to see the objective somewhere in the journey and probably not long into the journey one will give up. By faith we must be able to see the finish line. walking according to the flesh leaves one blinded to God's direction.
