In the last verses of this section of the letter, Paul answers some of the final objections that might be raised against his point that everyone is guilty before God - Jew and non-Jew alike. As we see, having God's Word is certainly an advantage, but it doesn't necessarily leave us better off.

In chapter two of Romans, Paul makes a case against those who believe they can avoid God's justice either by being 'good' or by being 'religious'.

Paul starts to lay out his gospel message. It may come as a shock that he begins with God's anger at human sin, which is being revealed now.
