Love is easy to talk about when things are going well. But what about when the answer doesn’t come, the waiting gets long, or life feels like evidence that we’ve been forgotten?

The tricky thing about pride is that it can feel so reasonable while it's happening, because it doesn't always look like bragging or thinking we're better than everyone else. Sometimes it looks like insisting on doing things our own way, refusing to change, getting defensive when someone gives us advice, or quietly believing, “I can handle this on my own.”

Isaiah 46–48 gives us a sobering reminder to examine our hearts, especially in the places where we're tempted to trust ourselves more than God. Because sometimes what we need isn't more confidence in ourselves, but a little more humility before the God who knows better, sees further, and carries us when we can't carry ourselves.

What do we do when life doesn't make sense?

We don't always get to see what God is doing, and sometimes His ways are completely beyond what we can understand. But not understanding God's plan doesn't mean He has lost control.

Even in the uncertainty, God is working according to His purposes. He is making Himself known, accomplishing His will, proving His Word true, and pointing people toward salvation.

We may not always understand what is happening, but we can know who is in control.

We spend so much of life trying to become more successful, secure, and accomplished. But what if “more” was never meant to be about having more for ourselves? What if it's about what Jesus can make of what He has already given us?

Waiting is hard, especially when the answer we’ve been praying for still hasn’t come.

Sometimes, we don't stop believing that God is great. We just stop noticing.

We know what He has done, we know He is faithful, and we know He is worthy of our praise. Yet somewhere in the busyness and routine of everyday life, our worship becomes mechanical, our prayers become distracted, and our hearts become more focused on what we want than on who God is.

God hasn't become less worthy of our worship. We just need to remember how great He really is.

It’s easy to lose focus when life gets difficult.

When we’re tired, anxious, frustrated, or waiting for God to act, we can start looking elsewhere for the security, relief, or help we need. The problem is that not everything we turn to can actually help us.

In Isaiah 41-42, God reminds His people that He is the One who sustains them, provides what they lack, and keeps His promises. And ultimately, He points them to the One they can truly place their hope in.

Sometimes the answer isn’t finding something new to hold on to. It’s remembering who we already have.

We all make mistakes. The bigger question is what we do after we make them.

In 2 Samuel 12, David's story reminds us that our first instinct is often to defend ourselves, make excuses, or hide what we've done. But God invites us to a better response, one marked by humility, honesty, and real change.
