In John 1:14 we are given three reasons why Jesus' birth is so important -- reasons which God can use to strengthen our faith, deepen our worship, and encourage our hearts.

To help us feel the wonder of Jesus' birth, John describes God's love in giving us John the Baptist as a witness to Jesus, the world's rejection of Jesus, but what God then does through Jesus to save people.

John's gospel does not open with stories of the birth of Jesus but with the focus on who He was and the hope He brought to the world.
