Paul wrote the letter of Colossians while imprisoned for preaching the gospel of Jesus Christ. We may think that he would start his letter by groaning about his circumstances, but he actually begins with a note of thankfulness to God! As we look at the spiritual blessings that fueled Paul's thankfulness beyond his circumstances, we learn how we can always find reasons to be thankful in the blessings God pours out through the gospel.

As we begin a new study through the letter of Colossians, we are reminded of the importance of understanding the circumstances in which the letter was written. In this introductory sermon, we consider the background and purpose of Colossians, teaching us to ground our identity in the Lord Jesus Christ as Christians.

Jesus is risen! As we look at Mark's account of the resurrection, we see that Jesus' rising from the dead can be trusted, is all our hope, and must be proclaimed.

In this study of Mark 15, we consider from Jesus' sentencing and crucifixion how he is our substitute and sacrifice who takes away our sin. The only right response in light of Christ's death is faith and a devotion to serve him wholeheartedly.

As we journey through the passion narrative of Jesus recorded by Mark in his Gospel, we see Jesus betrayed, condemned, and denied for our sake.

The Garden of Gethsemane is one of the most important scenes in the entire Gospel narrative. As we see Jesus' example in the Garden, we are taught the horror of sin and the heart of submission. And, by the disciples' bad example, we see the need to be watchful in prayer.

In Romans 1, Paul expresses his eager longing and duty to be an unashamed witness for the gospel. From his example, we can see what should mark all believers who aim to be faithful witnesses for Jesus Christ.
