What makes a genuine Christian? The book of James tells us that Christians will face trials with joy because we know that even suffering is a good gift from God to make us mature and complete. Though it is painful, we persevere as we look forward to the crown of life that awaits us at the end (James 1:1-18)

However there is hope, for God is faithful, loving and forgiving but we must lament and bring it before Him in repentance. God loves us and wants us to be close to Him. He promises to forgive so there always hope for the Christian backslider through Jesus no matter the cause of the backsliding. We can have confidence to enter God's kingdom and be with Him for the rest of eternity! (Psalm 85:1-13)
