Rather than insisting on things that causes others to stumble, we should willingly give up our rights in order to build up others. We follow the example of our Lord Jesus who gave up his life so that we might be saved (Romans 14:1-23)

As people who continue to receive God's love, we have an ongoing debt to love others. We are to love not only those who are our friends and family, but also those who persecute or hate us. We do this knowing that Jesus is coming back any moment now. We prepare for that day by giving up on worldly living and following in Jesus' footsteps, so that we might be ready when God's kingdom is fully at hand (Romans 13:8-14)
