This week in our series working through the book of 2 Samuel, we cover off a chunk of the story in one go. In our 9.15am service Josh preaches from chapters 15-19, looking at the conspiracy of Absalom, David's son, and the twists and turns that take place from there, ultimately leading to his death.

This week we continued our series preaching through the book of 2 Samuel. In our morning services Loyin preached on chapters 13 and 14 looking at the stories of Amnon, Tamar and Absalom and the way in which Jesus is the better king for us.

As we continue our series in the book of 2 Samuel, JP picks up where Jeremy left off last week looking at the way Nathan confronts David about his sin. Through the passage, we see the issue of sin as being one of idols and find that for all our sin there is a saviour and an invitation to repentance.

This week we rejoin our series in the book of 2 Samuel where Jeremy preaches on the passage featuring David and Bathesheba. In this message, Jeremy explores the flaw in King David and the restorative work of Jesus. He also touches on the topic of violence against women, and the responsibility we have to tackle it in society.

On Sunday we had special guest speaker John Russell, who leads Cornerstone Church in Nottingham, preaching a one-off message from the book of Isaiah. He speaks from chapters 36 and 37 on the way King Hezekiah responds in a time of crises and poses the questions to us: how do you cope in a crisis? Where do you turn to in times of trouble?

To accompany JP's sermon from Sunday 19th April on the Holy Spirit, Michael Williams has recorded a in-depth lecture on the topic. Michael did his masters on this very topic so is well studied on the topic and over the course of an hour digs into some of the questions posed on Sunday in more detail.

This Sunday JP preaches a one-off message on the Holy Spirit, with a particular focus on our perspective on the work of the Spirit in the life of a believer. JP covers a lot of ground across these 30 minutes, so if you'd like a more detailed walk through this topic Michael Williams recorded a long form piece called 'The Story of the Spirit' which you can find in our podcast feed.

This week, following a bumper Easter weekend, Ben preaches a follow-up message on reasons for faith and addresses the question 'why am I a Christian?' both on a personal level from his own story, but also why others can be sure of the reasons for their own faith.

As part of our big Easter celebration, Hannah preaches at our 11.15am service on the impact of the cross and resurrection on our everyday.
