# 2. Not Everybody Understands What you Understand

> By “subjective idolatry” we mean an occasion when a person consciously participates in an activity that they consider idolatrous. Whether or not others judge it to be so may be beside the point. By “objective idolatry” we have in mind people who do not consider themselves idolaters (they do not believe in idols or other gods) who participate in an activity that they consider innocent but which in fact is idolatrous.

# 3. You Should use Your Freedom to Love Your Brother

> The legalistic brother is the Christian who limits his freedom for the purpose of achieving self-righteousness and expects others to accommodate their self-limitations and protests when you don’t.

> The weaker brother is a Christian who can be influenced to sin against conscience by the example of a differing stronger brother.

> The stronger brother is the Christian who knows the joyful freedom they possess in the gospel and lives in a manner to serve their weaker brothers while not ceding any ground to the legalist for righteousness sake.
