Along with the rights that God has given us as citizens of His Kingdom, we have also been entrusted with certain responsibilities: to establish a distinctive community united around the purposes of God in the world, and to endure suffering in hope, among others. As we work to be faithful in fulfilling these responsibilities, our response to a changing and sometimes hostile culture becomes clearer.

Many of our troubles in dealing with culture around us stem from being unclear on our concerns versus our responsibilities. As Christ's ambassadors to the world, we have been commissioned with His work in the world. So what exactly is included within our responsibilities?

As our culture swirls due to rampant injustice and controversial social change, the responses we offer reveal the nature of our hearts. By our responses, we are able to discover where we have placed our identities. Do our responses reflect we are citizens of heaven and not of this world?

Anything not worthy of our worship is false worship..
Sincere energy may be devoted to false worship, but it's worthless.
Replacing false gods with the true God gives us a new perspective.

Daniel explains how the bronze serpent was a foreshadowing of repentance from sin toward faith in Christ which brings healing and salvation as we take our eyes off ourselves, look to Him and continue under His authority.

Are we willing to trust God for our provision? In Exodus 16, God provided Manna for the nation of Israel for 40 years in the wilderness. His provision then points towards His ultimate provision for us now: an intimate relationship with Him to be lived out each day of our lives.

The Miracle of the Passover story reveals many things to us about God. We learn that God's judgement is in accordance with His purposes and that God's sacrifice is our continual source of life and joy. Jesus absorbed our sin, He absorbed our debt, in His body, and in His sacrifice on the cross. He became our Passover Lamb. We are to surrender, embrace Him, and turn to Him.

Matt concludes our series with a discussion on how the different ideas presented in James are lived out in a community of believers. Specifically those needing prayer, healing, forgiveness and restoration.
