The cities that we reside in are falling apart. Don’t let the new construction, shiny cars, and nicely manicured lawns fool you. The hearts of the people in our city are wounded, hurt, deceived, and lost. This is true even for some of the religious people who look like they have it all together. Paul tells Timothy this is the condition of our cities during the end times; prideful, abusive, lacking self-control, not submitting to authority, slanderers, rash, and the list goes on. But there is a God who is strong enough to renew 10 cities, even the one that you live in. How? You! You carry the Presence of God, the Spirit of God, so how do you strengthen yourself in the Holy Spirit? Let's gather and discuss that very question.

Finding what works for you and your relationship with the Lord will help you trust God. Being a disciple is learning to live a life of sacrificial love toward God and others. There is a holy of holies for those who follow Jesus. It’s the place of great intimacy with God where you move past just attending church and simply doing the routines of Christianity out of obligation to a movement in your heart that is fueled from hunger. That place that God calls you to is where
deep calls to deep. It’s the longing of our hearts. It's to know God. What else is there in life but to know the Father who made you, the Author who writes your destiny? Knowing God is deeper than having a surface level acquaintance with someone. It’s a personal and intimate act of vulnerability
that we long for but rarely put time toward achieving. It's not something you can rush. It happens in rest and stillness. This is how we are to strengthen ourselves in the Lord just as David did through his life. Being a Disciple of Jesus means we access what is available to us and are strengthened by His Presence.

Weekend Messages are entrusted to you faithful people to teach others. Focus less on your success and more on leaving a legacy that honors Jesus’s Great Commission. This means making Disciples, which are people who strengthen themselves in the LORD, Manage their household well, & Make Disciples. To strengthen yourself in the Lord you need to hear from God and Cling to God. Have consistent devotionals to hear from God and then let what He says refine you. He is refining you for you to carry His destiny for your life. Refining seasons may be difficult and long, but they create breakthroughs, strength, miracle stories, and more

We have spent over a year talking about our mission as followers of Jesus; to make disciples of all nations. Jesus commanded us to give to others all of the gifts, teaching, encouragement, life, hope, and generosity that God has given us, to teach others what God has taught us. But what does it mean to be a disciple? If you are to make disciples of others, how do you make sure you are becoming a disciple yourself? A disciple is someone who can: strengthen themselves in the LORD, manage their household, and make disciples. We will explore all three of these, but this week we will focus on the first one. It comes from the life of David. Join me as we dive into his story to find out more about how God wants us to strengthen ourselves in the LORD.

Easter has become a tradition for families to come together to eat candy, hide eggs, and dress up. This is not at all what Jesus had in mind when He came out of the grave with the keys to the kingdom, and all authority had been given over to Him after living a perfect, holy, and pure life crushing the enemy of death and Satan. The Third day represents the exclamation point of the gospel to which we are not ashamed. It’s the power to save, live, and be free. The same Spirit that empowered Jesus to live and do such mighty miracles is the same Spirit that raised Him from the grave. If you follow Jesus, what are you letting the Spirit of God do; bring life, healing, strength and freedom? That’s what He desires. After fasting for two weeks, praying for 24 Hours, and going through Freedom Weekend, let's expect God to do more so that we can collect the leftovers of the great abundance.

Truth is SO important. It is so important that significant portions of scripture are devoted to warning us to be aware of attempts to deceive us, to distract us from the Truth. Indeed, Jesus Himself commands His disciples to 'See to it that no one deceives you, misleads you, leads you astray". Ben Goodman's message lays out a number of the major obstacles to knowing and walking in Truth. Our awareness of these obstacles can help keep us from being deceived.

We are in a season of Seeking God with our whole heart. That means we spend time in His presence through the reading of His Word, spending time in authentic community, confessing sin, and spending extended times in prayer and practices like fasting. Seeking God is the way forward. It’s the direction we are heading in, but it requires a removal of the weight and the sin for our journey in this life. Fasting helps us to rid our hearts of extra weight and removes the sin by first exposing it. Fasting is a willing practice that humbles our hearts, takes our shallow lives deeper, and breaks up the selfish areas. Fasting prepares our hearts to seek God, read His Word, and pray. Let us commit to seeking God through fasting together for two weeks leading up to Easter.

Success is achieved by keeping the main thing the main thing. However, we live in a culture where busyness and distraction are the normal lifestyle. Many moments that would be quiet moments are filled with entertainment, social media, or other activities. Jesus set an example of listening to the Father in silence. Abiding in Christ requires us to protect the sacred, quiet space in our life to hear from our Father, to see what the Father is doing, and to join Him in it.

In a season of seeking God, we can hit some obstacles, roadblocks, and potholes that make the trip a bit more rough. During longer rides, this becomes exhausting. You might begin to question if it's worth it. You might be tempted to quit and begin to doubt. This is the time where breakthrough happens, where we don't need to be tempted to do this in our own strength or vigor or even discipline but rather through the Spirit. Easily said, but how do you rest and let God fight your battles? Repentance. Kill the sin that is trying to resist being pushed aside. That’s when times of refreshing, rest, and life abundantly come because it's that act alone that draws the presence of God.
