As Elijah continued his time of preparation for being used powerfully by God, he saw that taking God at his word was the key to unlocking heaven’s resources. What are we believing that God has said?

Getting ready for anything is not the most exciting part but it is always necessary. God has a plan for all our lives and part of the plan will always involve seasons of getting ready where God calls us to simply follow him, above all else.

Elijah was called to be God’s voice into a nation that had gone into spiritual decline. The church carries the same prophetic call to make a difference in our generation. Like Elijah, we stand in our nation but also, primarily, we stand before our God.

Before David became king he spent some time locked down in a cave. As many of us cope with our own lockdown, God can use these seasons in surprising and powerful ways.

Saying goodbye is not easy. But after Jesus died and was resurrected, he left the disciples and ascended to heaven. And their response was worship and joy. How and why is the ascension of Jesus for worship and something we should rejoice over?

Many question whether it was fair that God should sacrifice his own son, or question why the central focus of Christianity is an event of such violence. However, it was essential for salvation that Jesus took the punishment for our sin. That is what makes the gospel good news.

The Covid-19 crisis is causing many to contemplate death in a new way. Only Jesus’ death promises to release people from being held captive by the fear of death.

We live our lives blind in that we don’t know what is coming up because we can’t see the future. So we ask God, who sees ahead, to lead us. We ask him to lead us away from temptation to sin and the works of the evil one.

With so much uncertainty surrounding the coronavirus crisis, it is easy to become fearful. Jesus spoke a lot about fear and showed us three simple steps to overcome it.
