Our world is falling asleep to the things of God, primarily his Word and the reality of it. Because of that, those in our world, our students especially, are suffering because of it. Scripture warns us about the danger of being spiritually asleep. When we fall asleep spiritually, we are more prone to fall into sin, deception, and darkness without even realizing it. God is calling this generation to wake up and rise up to place God back on the throne on their lives, submit to his way of life, and bring about the greatest revival and reform this world has ever seen. One that our world so desperately needs. But before that can happen, his people have to wake up. This week we are calling our students to wake up to the war that is being waged against them and equipping with the tips and tactics to walk in victory.

The goal of a Father is to mark out the Path for their child to take AND then model what it looks like to walk it. However, in this age of fatherless, other “cultural’ fathers are taking their place, and it’s leading to our student’s living a life filled will depression, darkness, deception and defeat. This was not God’s design or ideal. The scary news, is while we will ALWAYS be formed into the image of our Father - we get to choose who that Father will be. The ONE word Jesus used to describe God more than anything else is that same word — Father. God’s desire has ALWAYS been for us to leave our cultural and earthly fathers, to join Him and choose HIM to be the one to Father us and lead us into the life he has. In order to do that, though, we must repent from any direction we are running that isn’t toward him, and run back to God ready to not just Follow him, but be Fathered by Him. This week we are talking all about second MAIN traps we fall into on this journey of Faith — The Way of a Prideful. Let’s Dive in.

Everything you will ever need is found in his presence, and the even better news is that his presence is priceless — meaning it’s free to those receive it. On this journey of faith, other than your personal relationship with Jesus, the friendships and relationships you have with the people around you are the most important thing for you to focus on. In this life “You need a faith of your own, but you can’t do faith alone.” Once you have found a faith of your own, the next step is to begin to find friends to go on this journey of faith with. This is so important because NOTHING else affects our faith, our feelings, and even our future more than our friends. So the question is what type of friends should I be looking for — or better question — what type of friend should I become to those around me on my journey of faith? Well over the course of this conversation we are going to be talking about the THREE TYPES of friends we all need in our life, and how we can actually become these type friends to the people around us. This week we are talking about the third friend we all need — “The Truth-Teller.”
