One day, as Peter and John made their way to the Temple to participate in the daily prayers, they were presented extraordinary opportunity to bear witness to Jesus (Acts 1:8).

It was Pentecost, 30AD. Jerusalem was overflowing with devout Jews and proselytes from Israel and abroad gathered to celebrate the Feast of Weeks (Pentecost). The Apostles of Jesus were in Jerusalem as well. Before returning to heaven, Jesus commanded them to wait in Jerusalem for the promised Holy Spirit. About 9AM, Sunday morning, May 28th, 30AD, the Holy Spirit came with a bang.

The Book of Acts continues the story of Jesus and how He, through the power of the Holy Spirit began to build His Church through the Apostles and early believers. The Book of Acts continues the story of Jesus because Acts is the sequel to the Gospel of Luke written by the physician Dr. Luke.

The Reality of Rewards - Rewards In Review + Q/A

In our passage today, we will see that Jesus clearly teaches there are certain spiritual activities that will be rewarded, but they must be done the right way and for the right reasons. Now, I would argue that all spiritual disciplines and exercises are "rewarding" in one way or another, but Jesus made particular mention of the four we will look at today.

All who have faith in Jesus are his children and have been made right with God our Father, by His grace alone. This is the most incredible gift ever given and all who are justified will rejoice in what is to come. Yet, there are those believers who have gone "above and beyond" in their kingdom work, attitude, and service, and they will be recognized and rewarded based upon their faithfulness.

There is no record of your sinful deeds, past, present and future. They have been blotted out by the blood of Jesus. Therefore, without question, we will not be judged nor punished for sin at the Judgment Seat of Christ. Jesus, our Substitute, was judged and punished for our sin.

As we discovered in our previous study, our Christian race will be evaluated and compensated at the Judgment Seat of Christ. In this study we will discover the where, the when and the who of the Judgment Seat of Christ.

Many Christians do not realize the way they live their lives now matters not only for this life, but for the life to come. The Bible teaches it very much matters how we live our lives after we receive the gift of salvation by faith. We are going to give account for our Christian lives to Jesus and from Him receive reward or rebuke.
