Sermon Summary: God often moves us from times of triumph and victory to places of trial and testing. He does this so that we might learn that man does not live by bread alone, but man lives by every word that comes from the mouth of the LORD.

Serving in the church is different that volunteering elsewhere. We all should humbly serve with joyful hearts in a way that points others to Jesus. The Bible makes provision for men of distinction to help guide that service - not for ceremony or status - as a means to honor the Lord. The discipleship that flows out of our convent relationship with one another should make it easy to identify and develop servant leaders to minister as Deacons.

SUMMARY: To be a witness for Christ to our neighbors and the nations is to bring a message that is a marvel of simplicity: Jesus Christ is God come in the flesh; he died to pay for our sins; he was resurrected; now he is exalted in Heaven; he calls us to believe in him and so receive forgiveness of sins. This is good news. The strategy and tools can vary...but our motivation is Christ Himself!

Christmas Eve -

The fifth and final candle of Advent represents Jesus Christ. This candle signifies the ultimate reason for our Christmas journeythe baby Jesus, Gods only Son, the Savior of the world. Jesus is truly the reason for and the meaning of Christmas, and He is the source of all the gifts weve discovered on this Advent journeyhope, love, joy, and peace. Celebrate the birth of Jesus! The waiting is almost over; the Messiah is coming. And even as we celebrate His arrival in our world, our anticipation growsand we continue to live with longing and expectation for His second coming when His work will be complete and all the earth will be restored. Yet even now on the eve of Jesuss birth, we rejoice. Christ has come! He will come again!
