The antidote to abandoning our faith is riveting our attention on Jesus, because there’s no-one like him.

Ps. 107 is a psalm that draws attention to the steadfast love of God and calls us to give credit where it’s due, but in order to do so, we need to reflect, respond, and repeat.

The privilege of access to God’s glorious presence is what distinguishes the people of God as the people of God. The calling of Samuel proves that God’s presence is restored when His Word is established.

God desires pure worship from his chosen people. God’s house at Shiloh was a spiritual disaster. How can God restore pure worship when it is so defiled? As we see God restore worship for his people then, it will allow us to see the pure worship that God desires from us today.

Like the light piercing through shadows, the justice of God is inescapable. God justly weighs all our actions. As we join into Hannah’s prayer and consider God’s justice, ask yourself: how do I measure up?

1 Samuel 1-3 is about restoration of grand things - injustices of society, abuses of leadership. But God doesn’t over look the small things. This story of restoration starts with Hannah, and her hope to be restored from disgrace.

The letter to the Philippians paints a beautiful picture of a healthy gospel partnership with Paul and the Philippian church. Christians joyfully striving together for the gospel today can find much encouragement from the letter’s conclusion as we put into practice the same key principles in our own gospel partnerships.

There is a pattern to Christian maturity that Paul calls us to follow. Paul has been deeply personal about his walk with Jesus, calling us to keep running the race for the prize of the goal of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus.
