In this episode, a Ben & Janelle from Grace Fellowship Church shares a heartfelt testimony about obedience, confession, and surrender. They recount listing their farm, struggling with hidden debt, difficult family conversations, and the power of repentance to restore relationships. The story highlights God’s guidance, sacrificial discipleship, and how trusting Jesus transformed their plans and led to unexpected new beginnings.
Welcome to our journey through the Gospel of John! In this opening message, we explore why John's account is uniquely personal, coming straight from one of Jesus's inner three disciples who witnessed the transfiguration, the garden, and the resurrection firsthand. While Matthew, Mark, and Luke each wrote to specific audiences with unique focuses—such as proving Jesus as the Messiah, highlighting the suffering servant, or presenting Him to Gentiles—John's ultimate purpose is to help us personally experience the living God.
Opening with the familiar words "In the beginning," John intentionally connects the New Testament back to Genesis, revealing that the exact same God who spoke creation into existence stepped down into the world He made. We look at how first-century Jewish listeners, Greek philosophers searching for the "Logos", and people from every background grapple with this profound truth. Ultimately, this message confronts the darkness of our human nature with the uncontainable, piercing light of Christ, offering an invitation not to try and fix ourselves through religious effort, but to experience a true spiritual rebirth by receiving the living Savior. Tune in as we dive deep into what it means to make room for Christ in our lives and follow Him closer than ever before!
