Simeon Peter, a bond servant and apostle of Jesus Christ to those who have received a faith equal in value to ours by the righteousness of our God and savior Jesus Christ. Grace and peace be multiplied to you by the knowledge of God and Jesus our Lord because, on us, his divine power has bestowed everything necessary for life and godliness through the knowledge of the one who called us by means of his own glory and virtue through which, on us, his priceless and great promises he has bestowed so that through these you may become sharers of God’s nature being freed from the moral decomposition that is in this world because of lust. For this very reason, make every effort to supply your faith with virtue, and virtue with knowledge, and knowledge with self-control, and self-control with endurance, and endurance with godliness, and godliness with brotherly affection, and brotherly affection with love. For, if these are yours and are multiplying, they make you neither useless nor unproductive in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ. For the one who does not have these things is blind, being shortsighted, having received forgetfulness of the cleansing of his former sins. Therefore, brothers and sisters, be even more zealous to validate your calling and election, for if you do these things you will never lose your footing. For, in this way, there will be richly provided for you an entrance into the eternal kingdom of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
The OT is replete with hints and types of Jesus. It can be said that the whole of the OT bears witness to and culminates in Jesus. And one of the most famous persons in the OT, King David, can be seen as a multi-faceted type of Christ in his role as shepherd, as warrior, and as King. What an amazing and glorious God we worship!

We value asking questions to better understand how to live life in a God- centered, Christ-exalting way. We believe that church should be the best place in which people can get solid answers to life’s questions from God’s Word. 1. (01:25) I know I am forgiven of my sins because of the life of Jesus, but how do I deal with feelings of guilt and shame over how past actions have affected my life now? 2. (18:20) I was trying to share the gospel at my job and a coworker told me that Jesus was fake because in Matthew 16:28 He said: “Truly, I say to you, there are some standing here who will not taste death until they see the Son of Man coming in his kingdom” and since they have all died, Jesus has been proven to not be the Messiah. What is going on here? 3. (33:35) It is so hard to center my hope in Christ as I go throughout my week, what are some practical things I can do to maintain focus? I just seem to be weaker than normal people in this area.
We have been seeing glimpses of Jesus in the profiles of Old Testament people. These hints and whispers of characteristics become fully realized in Jesus. All of this is designed by our Heavenly Father to show that He is trustworthy.
The story of Joseph, the beloved son of Jacob, is a favorite for many Bible readers. It has all the earmarks of great storytelling — family animosity, a murder plot, intrigue, emotional highs and lows, temptation, peril, vindication and finally restoration. Through it all, Joseph emerges as perhaps the purest of Old Testament characters. How then, can Jesus be the True and Better Joseph? This morning, we take in a sweeping panorama of the story of Joseph and see how this beautiful narrative is actually telling the story of Jesus, the beloved son of God.
This week as we consider the Patriarch Isaac, we'll see that God not only used him as part of his plan of redemption but through events in Isaac's life pointed to where that plan was going. God was painting his Old Testament people a picture of what was to come and giving us assurance that he can still be trusted today.
